Introduction to Stress
Stress is something that many of us struggle with. I know that for a lot of people they’ve been stressed so long they become numb to it, but never the less the symptoms of it persist. Chronic stress like this is commonly because of poor eating habits, sleep schedules, or mental issues over a long period of time. This sort of gradual progression can be hard to sense when you in the moment, but try to take a step back and see if you would benefit from any of this.

Maintaining a healthy weight will help you to avoid the hormones and deficit in the functioning of your stress hormones. If you get poor nutrition, it becomes even more critical that you eat high nutrient food in order to combat the effects of stress, as well as having the energy and stamina to meet your work accordingly. One of the most important things that we can do to relieve stress, is to get a good night’s sleep. Most people go to bed later and later at night. This is a cause of increased stress in your body. Sleep is good. Get Sleep.
If the stress is mental then keeping a journal will greatly improve your life. Even though you know that the journal is not a person, writing down your thoughts or venting to the journal can psychologically feel like you’re letting it out to an actual person. Instead of keeping all those thoughts in your head, write them down and give them somewhere to go instead of lingering, and festering.
You can also incorporate more exercise into your life. Making exercise a part of your daily routine can cut down on the amount of times you are on the edge and desperate to indulge a craving. You will then have more energy for stressful situations. Bringing exercise into your life can make your life better, and it will also help you learn how to cope with stress.
It seems counter-intuitive to think that working out and making yourself tired will actually give you more energy, but it absolutely does. When (not if) you workout think about how good you feel, not only that you completed the mission and didn’t give up, but actually physically good after about 15 minutes and a shower. Memorize that feeling for when you’re “not feelin it.”
Stress is a part of life. However, it shouldn’t run your whole life. If you’re experiencing high levels of stress over a long period of time then something is wrong and you need to figure out what it is. Whether that be your diet, mental health, a physical condition, etc. but you need to figure it out because the constant stress puts a drain on your entire life and the ones around you. Be good to yourself and make sure you’re body is getting what it needs to be happy and healthy, and you will be too.
